It’s been a really great experience redesigning CushionsAndUmbrellas.com from the ground up.   It was time for us to take a look at what we wanted to accomplish with our site and how we wanted to improve our customers experience.  I think on of the achieved some of our most important goals.

1. Completely redesigned the site using the Magento E-commerce engine.  A great choice and a great set tools for our customers.  Now we have a much simpler checkout and sign up process, and we now accept PayPal and are working on accepting Google Checkout soon.
2. Our shopping guides, help and answers (FAQ) and this blog with our own customization of the Wordpress using the Thesis Theme.
3. Expanded our fabric offering.  We now carry 60 outdoor fabrics for cushions and 40 Sunbrella fabrics for our patio umbrellas.

As much as I love design, this redesign will be the last redesign, I swear. I think we’ve finally come to a brand image for the cushionsandumbrellas.com, and put together a new site that we feel is not only indicative of who we are, but what we want to be, the premiere patio umbrellas and patio cushions source on the net.

And a new design isn’t the only thing we’ve done. We’ve brought together a completely NEW Line of patio umbrellas, extending into brand new territories for us. Our new Offset Patio Umbrella line features three sizes of side post patio umbrellas. And we’ve put together what we feel has to be the largest line of Fiberglass Rib Patio Umbrellas in the market. Fiberglass Rib patio umbrellas are an innovation I’ve been wanting to add to our line since we opened in 2006. Basically, these are probably the strongest patio umbrellas in the market. According to a study by the University of Miami (our home town!) fiberglass rib umbrellas are wind resistant up to 50mph. We’ve also expanded our discount patio umbrellas line for those value conscious buyers.

We’ve refined our outdoor furniture cushion line to what has proven to be the most popular outdoor cushions on the market, and by adding an extended line of discount patio cushions, we feel that we are finally offering a full line of cushions for all uses.

In our fabric line, we’ve added a larger selection of Sunbrella Fabrics, as well as added Outdura, and a new expanded line of Poly Print Outdoor Fabrics that anyone can enjoy.
