A little towel is all I needed.

We recently received this great letter from a recent customer:

Dear CushionsAndUmbrellas.com,

I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with our new patio chaise cushions.  We recently purchased two aluminum furniture chaise cushions in Bravada Limelight, and where so happy when they arrived.

I immediately placed them on our furniture and they fit like a charm.  Little did I know, just the next day, as my wife and I where catching up on some serious lounging, that I would cause a minor catastrophe by turning to my wife and say “Honey what a great day it is.”

See, I had a newspaper in my hand, and being lazy, I just turned over to talk to my wife who was in the chaise next to mine.  I didn’t fold the paper first.  As I turned over, the bulky newsprint took down a lovely bottle of merlot we where enjoying, spilling the wine all over our new chaise cushions.  My wife screamed, I screamed and fell out of my chaise trying to stop the spill with my hands.  My wife looked at me and said “Get some water quick!”

Well, being that we where next to the pool, in my haste, I grabbed the first container that I saw, grabbed some pool water, and started to douse the cushion with it.  Again, my wife screamed at me to stop.  I grabbed the first towel I could see and started to wipe up the mess I made, fully expecting to have a stained cushion and having to replace them.

Well, a funny thing happened.  Both the wine and the water basically beaded on the surface of the cushion.  The towel took them right out.  I was shocked.  If I had spilled wine on my shirt or pants, I would have been done for, but the Sunbrella Fabric really is water resistant, and in this case wine resistant as well!  To be on the safe side, I used a damp clothe to wipe away at the area again, but there was nothing there to wipe away.  Now today, two days later, the cushion is still clean.

I just wanted to write you and tell you that it’s pleasure to have such a high quality patio cushion on my loungers.  Thanks for the great service and the great chaise cushions.

I really love these kind of stories.  It’s great to know that your product is performing the way it was meant to.  That’s the magic of outdoor fabrics, especially acrylics.  Water and most liquids just bead up on the surface, ready for you to wipe it away.  However, act fast.  Even acrylic fabrics can be damaged by extensive liquid staining, so always act fast.  Maintain you cushions with regular wipe downs, and you’ll get years of use from them.
